adrienne jonesMSN, RN, CNM

"Every women deserves the midwifery model of care regardless of where they desire to give birth."

adrienne jonesMSN, RN, CNM

Adrienne was born and raised in Dallas. She has always had a desire to work within her community, educating and empowering women and their families. Adrienne obtained a Bachelor of Science from Stephen F. Austin State University, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Women's University, and a Master of Science in Nursing, Nurse-Midwifery from Frontier Nursing University, the oldest continually operating nurse midwifery program in the United States. While in nursing school Adrienne's Labor & Delivery curriculum was taught by Certified Nurse Midwives. This education in respectful, evidence-based care ignited a flame in her heart that grew into her passion today.

Adrienne began working in the Emergency Department (ED) at Texas Health Presbyterian Dallas while in nursing school. She loved every minute of the 10 years she worked in the ED. She enjoyed each unique situation that was presented to her, seeing it as an opportunity to be compassionate while honing her skills. After delivering her first child, Ruby, she also began to work as a nurse at the birth center where Ruby was born. It was her amazing birth experience that led her to begin pursuing midwifery school. While pregnant with her second child, Sebastian, working in the ED and at the birth center, Adrienne was accepted to Frontier Nursing University. As she progressed through school, Adrienne dreamed of her career in midwifery and all of the ways she would be able to engage and support her community.

Adrienne has experience caring for women in both the birth center setting and the hospital setting. She believes that every woman deserves the midwifery model of care regardless of where they desire to give birth. Adrienne works to create an intimate, encouraging, and peaceful birth environment wherever the setting. One of Adrienne's greatest joys is nurturing families as they grow. She enjoys empowering women and their families by helping the community develop positive attitudes about health, wellness, pregnancy, and childbirth.

meghan kaney-francisMSN, RN, CNM

"I believe everyone deserves a compassionate, approachable, and encouraging provider. I'm excited to share your journey."

meghan kaney-francisMSN, RN, CNM

Meghan is thrilled to be a part of the Modern Midwifery team and is grateful for the opportunity to serve the women and families of her community. Meghan attended Richardson schools and graduated from Texas A&M University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science in Community Health. She then moved to Maryland and earned her Associate Degree in Nursing from Anne Arundel Community College. Meghan spent the next ten years working as a registered nurse in trauma/emergency medicine.

While she truly enjoyed the fast pace and energy of the ER, Meghan knew that ultimately, women’s health and labor and birth were her passion. After the births of her two daughters in hospital, Meghan decided to hire a midwife and deliver her third child at home. The unwavering support of her midwife at her son’s birth and the encouragement of her husband, Anthony, solidified Meghan’s decision to attend Frontier Nursing University to become a Certified Nurse-Midwife. While pursuing her graduate degree, Meghan worked as a birth assistant at Plano Birthplace as well as Lovers Lane Birth Center in Richardson. Sharing sacred space with a laboring woman and witnessing such strength, vulnerability, and awesomeness, Meghan’s decision to become a CNM was richly validated with each beautiful birth.

Meghan delivered her fourth baby at home, with Adrienne as her midwife. Supported by an incredible birth team, Baby Wilder joined sisters Brooklyn and London and big brother Jack. Meghan believes everyone deserves a compassionate, approachable, and encouraging provider. She is excited to welcome you to Modern Midwifery and share your journey.
